One of long time implemented project of Janodaya was "Release and rehabilitation of women prisoners" implemented with foreign funding support since1992-1993, for 7 central prisons and Bristol home of boys in Dharwad of Karnataka state.

Janodaya, during this project implementation realized that there were hundreds of children lost, deserted and victimized for child labour, among this category of families.

Janodaya took up the project for prisoners children under 2 sections
1.Rehabilitation-residential.
2. EAP – Scholarships.

Since 1993, Janodaya has been implementing this project and now has developed this networking and fund raising events to support the cause of children of prisoners.

This project is also connected to "Child Rights Act" in its implementation and for its network support.

Network connectivity for services



    • Supportive role at police stations to handle the victims

    • Co-ordination with state level women’s helpline centers and protection officers for handling Domestic violence act cases.

    • Vulnerable and victimized women and children from among communities, referred by public to Janodaya; for rehabilitation and social mainstreaming.

    • Network with Women and Child development Department and state women commission for supportive role for enquiries and settlement of disputes in families.

    • Private individual approaching Janodaya for accessing their legal rights – property, child custody, child-maintenance, alimony, home maintenance, divorce and other benefits under law, negotiated by Janodaya for victims

    • Support and guidance to identify domestic workers children who require educational support funding from REaD India foundation.

    • Rehabilitation and police network facilitated by Janodaya for Thread of Foundation (TOF) – beneficiaries from UJJWALA project under central government.

    • Facilitating and providing internship to students sunder various programme of Janodaya for practical leaning and exposure.

    • Facilitate and promote employment to unskilled, semi skilled and for unorganized labour sector.

    • Temporary and emergency shelter facilities organized for victims under women helpline service cell, who require short stay facility.

    • Consultancy and legal literacy to women victims seeking separation, divorce and marital issues.

    • Trainings and capacity development of industrial and corporate company heads/management for implementing POSH and other women law related acts.

    • Network with labour department for providing available schemes and its benefits to its workers.
